School Board Member Ben Allen Launches State Senate Campaign With Support from Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky & Senator Fran Pavley

Santa Monica, CA -- Today, Santa Monica-Malibu School Board Member Ben Allen formally launched his Campaign for California State Senate District 26 with key endorsements from County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky and Senator Fran Pavley.

In making his endorsement Supervisor Yaroslavsky said, “I’ve known and worked with Ben for over 20 years. He has selflessly devoted himself to our community. He has the vision, experience, intelligence and temperament to represent us. I wholeheartedly endorse Ben Allen for the State Senate.”

Senator Pavley stated, “Ben is exactly what we need in the State Senate, a smart and pragmatic problem solver. His passion for education, demonstrated by his years of service on a school board and in his teaching at UCLA School of Law, will be a valuable asset for our legislature.”

Ben is an attorney who teaches education law and policy at UCLA Law School. He grew up in the district, attending local public schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. He is a two-term School Board member, top vote getter in both his 2008 and 2012 elections, and served as President of the Board. He served as the University of California Student Regent while at law school.
