Professional Peace Officers (PPOA) Endorse Ben Allen

Santa Monica, CA -- Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School Board Member Ben Allen has earned the endorsement of The Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Association (PPOA), in his run for California State Senate in the 26th District. PPOA represents more than 8,500 active and retired deputy sheriffs, county marshals, and other professionals in the law enforcement community.

“PPOA is proud to endorse Ben Allen for Senate,” said PPOA President Brian Moriguchi. “Ben cares about the community and will be a strong advocate for public safety. He has the leadership qualities and compassion we need in government to ensure that our neighborhoods are safe for all people.”

This endorsement is a testament to Allen’s work on, and ongoing commitment to, public safety. As President of the Santa Monica-Malibu School Board, Allen worked closely with sheriffs and Santa Monica police officers to ensure that the local schools were safe and that students were educated about safety and crime matters. He also placed a number of students in law enforcement apprenticeships through his work with Spark Los Angeles, which connects disadvantaged young people in life-changing apprenticeships.

“I’m so proud to have the support of our law enforcement officers who are out there every day keeping our streets safe,” said Allen. “This is a strong vote of confidence in our campaign, message, and momentum.”

Allen has previously received endorsements from some of the most respected leaders and organizations in the region, including LA County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, State Senator Fran Pavley, the West Hollywood-Beverly Hills Democratic Club, and the Progressive Democrats of the Santa Monica Mountains.
