Santa Monica, CA -- In his bid to represent California’s 26th Senate District, Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board Member Ben Allen has earned enthusiastic endorsements from the majority of the City Mayors within Senate District 26.
Allen's Mayoral endorsement block consists of 12 out the 15 Mayors in Senate District 26. These Mayors include the following: Beverly Hills Mayor Lili Bosse, Santa Monica Mayor Pam O'Connor, Manhattan Beach Mayor Wayne Powell, Hermosa Beach Mayor Peter Tucker, Redondo Beach Mayor Steve Aspel, Torrance Mayor Pat Furey, Lomita Mayor Michael G. Savidan, Palos Verdes Estates Mayor Ellen Perkins, Rancho Palos Verdes Mayor Jerry Duhovic, Rolling Hills Mayor B. Allen Lay, Rolling Hills Estates Mayor Judith Mitchell, and Avalon Mayor Ann Marshall.
Beverly Hills Mayor Lili Bosse announced her endorsement, stating, "Ben Allen is a dedicated public servant who will be a leader in Sacramento on critical issues such as education, protecting the environment, and ensuring we have clean and transparent government. Based on his record of serving his community on the School Board, I feel confident that, as a State Senator, Ben Allen will always be responsive to the needs and concerns of Beverly Hills residents."
"City of Avalon needs more leaders like Ben Allen. His job and economic priorities are aligned with our vision of a dynamic and thriving city. I enthusiastically endorse Ben Allen for State Senate because of his support in combatting poverty and providing affordable and habitable housing," said Mayor Ann Marshall of Avalon.
Lomita Mayor Michael G. Savidan wholeheartedly gave his endorsement, stating, "As a lifelong resident of Lomita and as a former Commander within the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, I feel that Ben's extensive public service and upbringing within our District are what set him apart. We have already seen vast improvements throughout our District, as Ben has been unwavering in using his knowledge of the ins and outs of legislation to create and implement fiscally responsible measures within education reform and environmental conservation. I share his vision of continuing to protect and improve our quality of life, and know he will continue to be a driving force that leaves no stone unturned as our next State Senator."
