Santa Monica, CA -- Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board Member Ben Allen has earned the endorsement with 90% of the vote of the Miracle Mile Democratic Club (MMDC) in his campaign for California’s 26th State Senate District.
“Ben Allen’s experience and passion for the issues we care about made him the clear choice for both the Mid-City and the 26th State Senate District,” said Michael Kapp, MMDC Operations Vice President. “Ben showed an incredible depth of knowledge on a host of issues critical to our neighborhood, as well as an infectious amount of enthusiasm and energy. The Miracle Mile Democratic Club was excited to support one of its own members to represent us in Sacramento, and we look forward to working hard for Ben's election.”
The Miracle Mile Democratic Club is one of the youngest and fastest growing Democratic Clubs in California. Despite being founded in early 2013, the club has over 130 members who mostly hail from the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Beverly Grove, Carthay, Fairfax, Hancock Park, Larchmont Village, Mid City West, Mid-Wilshire, Miracle Mile, and Windsor Square. The Miracle Mile Democratic Club has been widely active in every election since its formation, organizing precinct walks, phonebanks, and Tweet Banks for its endorsed candidates. To date, the club has a nearly flawless record of endorsing candidates who eventually win election.
“I’m humbled by the support of this incredibly influential and dedicated organization,” said Allen. “They care about the issues that I care about, and I'm so proud to have their endorsement.”
The Miracle Mile Democratic Club endorsement follows on the heels of other Democratic Club endorsements for Allen, including the Los Angeles County Young Democrats, the Progressive Democrats of the Santa Monica Mountains, Democrats for Israel-Los Angeles, and the West Hollywood-Beverly Hills Democratic Club.
